Curious About the Crystal Ball?

A Peek Behind the Curtain of Our AI Job Quiz

How Does This Thing *Actually* Work?

Great question! While we can't predict the future with 100% certainty (our crystal ball is still in beta), we've put together a system based on analyzing the components of various jobs and how susceptible they might be to AI advancements.

Here's the general idea:

1. Breaking Down Your Job

Whether you take the manual quiz or upload a profile, the first step involves understanding your role. For the manual quiz, your answers to the multiple-choice questions and your job description give us context. For the file upload, our AI analyzes the document to infer similar details.

2. Skills, Skills, Skills

Once we have an idea of your job (like "Software Engineer" or "Underwater Basket Weaver"), we break it down further. We've compiled a list of nearly 100 different skills – covering everything from "Critical Thinking" and "Emotional Intelligence" (the soft skills) to "Database Management" and "Physical Dexterity" (the hard skills).

3. AI Vulnerability Assessment

This is where the AI magic (and educated guesswork) happens. For each of those ~100 skills associated with your likely profession, the tool attempts to estimate two key things:

  • Importance: How crucial is this specific skill for someone doing your job effectively? (Rated 0-100)
  • AI Replaceability: Given the current and near-future trajectory (roughly the next 5 years) of AI and Robotics, what's the likelihood that technology could perform the tasks associated with this skill as well as, or better than, a human? (Rated 0-100)

For example, "Data Entry" might be rated highly replaceable by AI, while "Empathy" or "Complex Strategic Planning" would likely be rated much lower.

4. Calculating the Score

The individual skill ratings, combined with your quiz answers (or the AI's estimates from your file) and some AI-driven analysis of your job description/context, feed into our algorithm. This algorithm weights the different factors to produce the final AI Replaceability Score for 2030 and projects it into the future (2035, 2040, 2050).

A Very Important Disclaimer!

Please, Please, Please Don't Take This Score Too Seriously!

This tool is built on estimations, generalizations, and a rapidly evolving technology landscape. It's designed to be a fun conversation starter and perhaps provoke a thought about how your skills align with future trends.

Real-world job replacement is incredibly complex, involving economic factors, company adoption rates, societal changes, and the sheer unpredictability of innovation. This quiz is a simplified model, not a definitive forecast.

Use it for entertainment, maybe a little self-reflection, and definitely challenge your friends – but don't base major life decisions solely on this robot's opinion!
